Khalon Richard
Product Strategy • Content & AI

Hi, I'm Khalon.I am a product strategist and builder specializing in growth via content products, platforms, and operations.

My work began in legacy media (NPR) but has expanded to include mobile apps and content in other industries. I like to work with organizations at moments of possibility — when new technology, evolving expectations, or ambitious expansion plans demand different ways of thinking.

Over the past decade I've built new avenues for growth by combining strategy, product thinking, and thoughtful design to create better experiences for audiences and stronger systems for the teams behind them.

About

Working Principles

01

All good work begins with empathy.

02

I only build beautiful products.

Elegance is usability. Thoughtful design demonstrates respect and care for the people on the other end of what we build.

03

Complexity is a liability.

04

Written artifacts are force multipliers.

Writing clarifies thinking. Shared thinking scales organizations. Organizational memory is a competitive advantage.

05

Prioritizing accessibility improves products for all users.

06

Human potential is irreplaceable.

Technology can help us uncover it, amplify it, and expand what's possible.

Building growth systems end-to-end.

NPR Platform Strategy

Grove: The first shared publishing platform for public media

More than 250 independent public-media organizations needed modern publishing infrastructure while operating with different workflows, priorities, and levels of technical maturity. I led product strategy and launch for NPR's first unified CMS platform: building the discovery, prioritization, onboarding, and change-management systems that achieved adoption targets.

CoStar Group Scaling Content Production with AI

CoWrite: Enterprise AI for editorial workflows

I led product for CoStar's first enterprise generative AI product, transforming structured commercial real estate data into publishable news drafts — embedded directly into existing publishing tools instead of introducing a net-new agentic experience. The product increased editorial output 10–20× while reducing operational costs. I also established the training, governance, and review standards required to scale AI responsibly across global news and research teams.

CoStar Group International Expansion

Building a scalable global publishing ecosystem

As CoStar expands internationally, I lead the CoStar News product & operations strategy behind integrating acquired businesses and launching new markets. This work looks like aligning executives and local teams, reconciling different business and publishing models, migrating content, localizing customer experiences, and deciding what to standardize versus preserve in each market.

I used Claude to launch my site in a few hours. I have mixed emotions.

Strong opinions, loosely held: product, AI, corporate hopecore, maybe a bit of pop culture
